I was not getting much feedback via email for The.Matrix-ASCII.
I thought people might be more inclined to post a quick message on a forum instead, so here it is.

Hey, superb movie conversation. I would like to see the other two movies also as ascii versions. That would complete the triologie. Can you do it? I don't know much about movie conversation, but the ascii-matrix movie is great.

Thanks for this cool movie.

Have a nice eastern, cheers murphy

Hello murphy,
Thanks, I am glad you like it. I could convert the other two movies but I currently have no plans to do so. The process takes a considerable amount of time and drive space. I purchased a drive just for the purpose of converting this movie. It would not be so bad if I did not keep the intermediate files but I like them too much to delete them.
I am also considering the issue of perceived piracy. The original Matrix movie was released in 1999. I believe that you need to have seen the original movie to be able to appreciate this version but the latest one was just released in DVD. I believe that my version of their movie is covered under 'parody' but I am currently not willing to temp the fates with something so recent.

Umm - i know you said that div-x had some problems with the ascii text . . .
was it *that* bad? I know that I, and probably a few others, would LOVE to see this film but have neither the hard drive space to download the full DVD, nor a dvd drive. Div-x and x-vid are my only window to films at home.
Is it possible to release a tracker of it in smaller form? even if two cd's?
It looks amazing!

The short answer: Yes, it is that bad.
I have some images showing the quality change as I move from the original image to the different encodings here.
I can not make out any of the characters when using DivX. I want to be able to pause the movie on any frame and read any character on the screen. I will try with XviD and see how it comes out. If it is usable I will post it.

I used Auto Gordian Knot to make 1, 2 and 3 disc XviD encodings of The.Matrix-ASCII. I updated my comparison page with the new images. They are not usable.
